Throwin’ Rocks

Totally missed posting this fun intermission
in our Gran’parent Photo Shoot back in April.

If you missed the post about our Photo Session…
head over to McPix Photography Blog!

Mercedes wanted to take a turn as photographer.

She posed us all …
then gave directions …
and pushed the shutter …
then told Gran’ma, Gran’pa, and I …
what to do so she could be in a few pictures …
again, giving directions …
and telling us how to pose.

After awhile she got tired of the photo session

and wanted to just be a kid.

Gran’pa agreed!

It was time to throw some rocks into the river!!!

Sometimes it’s not the PIXELS from a photo session
that bring the memories,
but the out takes, behind the scenes,
the Memories captured during the photo session!

Totally Better …

… unless you have Netflix and can watch an entire series in a month!

Thank you family for allowing me to
live in another world for the months of May and June!

Aside from working at DisneyLAND,
another dream job would be
the West Wing of the United States White House.

Baby phase again?!?

I know she’s growing up too fast.

I know I’d LOVE it if she stayed little longer.

But I’m NOT okay with going in and out of the baby phases.

Sometimes I blame it on the waiting for BooYah to come.

Sometimes I think it’s that it’s because she’s an only child and I baby her.

But really it’s just my own fault for letting it happen!

I’m going to be strong today!

But really…
who has a four year old that can still fit in her cradle…

5 Things ~ You Do Well

5 Things You Do Well

5 ~ I’m creative. ~ Creative in the classroom, creative in decorating my home, creative in parenting, Creative!

4 ~ Relaxing.  Be lazy!  Enjoying myself!  Procrastinating.  I’m SOOOOO good at relaxing!!

3 ~ Capturing HIS beauty in PIXELS!  It is my gift.  My gran’ma Franny paints… My Great-Uncle turns rocks into gems… I show off God’s CREATIVITY in pictures!

2 ~ Being silly!  I truly don’t think I will ever grow up.  I can act like a grown up, but I’m truly happy when I’m silly!  🙂

1 ~ Trusting in HIS promises!  Even when I’m doubting, I’m reminding myself that HIS plan is better than mine.  HIS love for me is greater than anyone’s love me.  HE will ALWAYS be my rock!!

5 Things ~ To-Do List. . .

5 Things on your To-Do List…(literally, right now)

1. Laundry… Seriously is there a laundry fairy and where can I find her?!?!?!

2. Clean the Office… Got Cede’s toy’s moved, but the rest is my mess!!!  Trying to make it into a mudroom and a storage place for my business supplies.

3.  Connect with friends… I hibernate during the winter… I’m trying not too.  CALL SOMEONE MANDY!!

4.  Scrapbook… Print Pictures… Remember!!  Mercedes is growing sooooo fast.  I only have one album done for her.  I want to remember.  I want her to remember.  I’m almost done with our cruise trip book… there is a light for that one.  I’m behind by 3 years on our Christmas albums.  I LOVE having those little books to remember each year and how we celebrated.  TIME!!

5.  Plan dinner… not at 4:30pm when my tummy starts to rumble… but actually have a plan!!

H2O Snob

My sister is a water snob.

I love her… she knows it…
I’m not outing here either… she will admit to this if you ask her.

For a long time… like since the day she was born…
I have believed my daughter is a Mini-Me to my sister.

This has been proven on several occasions…

She has the most sensitive head know to man,
brushing her hair causes tears you wouldn’t believe.

Her hair is so fine, even when it’s wet it’s hard to braid.

She was born with dance moves and rhythm.

But just a weeks ago, she proved it yet again.

I had three cups of water in the car when I picked up up from school.

First cup… from Gran’ma’s house… filtered fridge water with ice.

“Mommy this tastes funny!”

Second cup… from our house… filtered fridge water (ice had melted).

“Mommy this one isn’t cold!”

Third cup… Sonic cup… melted ice.

“Ahhh… That’s good water Mommy!”

Water is water!!

Love you Aunt Carol!!

Christmas Reflections

Christmas is my favorite time of year!

This year we were sick during the weeks leading up to Christmas.

So the season was forced into peace, rest, and relaxing.

We didn’t even get a chance to make cookies.

Some traditions had be changed… new traditions started.

We hit off the Christmas season with
the Annual Christmas Program at Mercedes’ school!

Her class sang the cutest song called “The Lullaby of Love”.

Listening to her sing is one of my favorite things EVER!

And the “Lullaby of Love” is the sweetest song,
all about singing Baby Jesus to sleep!

We celebrated “Little Yuleoften” (Little Christmas)
by piling in Gran’pa’s car and looking at Christmas Lights!

It was super fun and relaxing!

Most of the Christmas vacation was spent on the couch.

We had WAY too many slumber parties in the living room.

We ate LOTS of mac and cheese, crackers, and cereal.

Gran’ma Cheryl and Gran’pa Marty came over for Christmas Eve.

We went to Children’s Church… 3pm.

We made snacks for dinner… an Olson/Wilson tradition.

Opened up presents.

Gran’pa read “The Night Before Christmas”.

It was precious.

Grandma Joyce and Papa Mike went on vacation during December.

We missed them soooo much!!  They had a GREAT trip!

We celebrated Christmas with them when they got home.

It was a GREAT Christmas season.

The best part is knowing that without Christmas,
there wouldn’t be an Easter!

May the gift of Jesus’ love, grace, and forgiveness
be the best gift under your tree.
